Our apartments are located inside the Palazzo Del Carretto of Gorzegno and Palazzo Barbaroux. The first was built in 1685 by G. Gallinati. In the mid-18th century (1796) it was added onto and purchasedby the Marquis Del Carretto of Gorzegno. Hence, the name of this historic building comes from the prestigious Del Carretto family.
The Del Carretto family had, for centuries, been the sovereign of a territory that extended from the Ligurian coasts of Noli to almost the city of Alba, in the Piedmont region, were Turin is located. We owethe first restoration and expansion – that made the palace even more majestic than it already was – to the marquis Del Carretto.
The second, Palazzo Barbaroux, a very prestigious building, was built at the end of the 17th century andhas been renovated and expanded through 1840. In 2013, the building underwent a complete renovation, meeting the highest energy standards. The building has adouble facing,internal courtyard: on one side it faces via Bogino and on the other the Palazzo Cisterna Park.
